In 2006, Scott was admitted to practice law before all courts of the State of New Mexico and has been engaged in the practice of law in New Mexico continuously since that date. Scott has practiced before the New Mexico Workers’ Compensation Administration since his admission to the New Mexico bar in 2006.

Initially, Scott worked with the Albuquerque law firm of Butt Thornton & Baehr PC where he earned an equity partnership. Scott remained with Butt Thornton & Baehr PC until January 1, 2020 when Scott opened his own law firm, NM Workers’ Compensation Attorneys LLC, to put the substantial experience gained at Butt Thornton & Baehr PC as an insurance defense attorney to work for New Mexico's injured workers. This experience allows Scott to better assist you in your workers’ compensation claim as he knows and understands how insurance companies operate.

Scott has been selected as a Super Lawyers rising star, was a finalist for workers' compensation attorney of the year, has presented at numerous conferences in the area of workers' compensation law, and is a top-rated workers’ compensation attorney.
