Federal Emergency Management Agency; United States Department of Homeland Security; Michael Chertoff, Secretar Represented a group of low-income individuals displaced from their homes by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in suit against the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other Federal officials; class action lawsuit in Federal court in the Eastern District of Louisiana. Court certified class action and granted a preliminary injunction prohibiting FEMA from terminating people from its rental assistance program.

General Electric Capital Corporation Wausau Underwriters Ins. Co. v. General Electric Co. Won, and successfully defended on appeal through the Texas Supreme Court, summary judgment for General Electric in suit involving equitable subrogation claims under a novel interpretation of Texas’s products-liability indemnity statute. Wausau Underwriters Ins. Co. v. Gen. Elec. Co., No. 01-02-00895-CV, 2004 WL 1471987 (Tex. App.—Houston [1st Dist.] July 1, 2004, pet. denied).
