Matthew McElligott
Matthew McElligott is a partner at VCM Law Group and focuses his practice on Criminal and Civil Litigation. Matthew began his legal career at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office where he gained experience defending the spectrum of criminal offenses from minor misdemeanors, criminal traffic violations, and DUI’s to serious offenses including drug trafficking, sexual battery, and homicide. Matthew also has extensive experience in litigating Fourth Amendment Search and Seizure law and forensic litigation issues including fingerprints, DNA, toxicology, accident reconstruction, and pathology (Medical Examiners).
After serving the residents of Miami-Dade County for over six years at the Public Defender’s Office, Matthew went into private practice for a large firm focused on civil litigation. Matthew gained extensive experience with auto negligence, premises liability, slip and falls, wrongful death, products liability, and negligent security cases. Matthew gained valuable insights while defending insurance companies and large corporations in these matters that he now uses to help obtain maximum recovery on behalf of his clients.
