- Activities: In 2004, Marty was the Chairman of the State and Local Tax Committee of the Taxation Section of the California State Bar. Marty is a member of the Board of Directors of the Taxpayers Political Action Committee (TaxPAC) and has been the organization?s Secretary since 2004. Marty served on former Board Member Parrish?s Tax Advisory Committee from 2002 to 2007. Marty has also been certified by the State Board of Equalization as a Property Tax Appraiser. Marty has been published in a number of different periodicals including The Multistate Journal of Taxation and Incentives and CCH?s State Tax Review and has spoken before a number of different groups including the California CPA Society, the Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group and as a guest lecturer on State and Local Taxation at the University of California, Los Angeles as well as California State University, Los Angeles. Marty is also an instructor for Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) on sales and franchise tax issues.
