Biography

Layla is a Family Law attorney who practices law with compassion, integrity, and pragmatism. Family Law matters are inherently emotionally difficult, and this area of law called to Layla because she knew that her deep sense of empathy would best serve her clients.

Layla has extensive experience in Family Law matters that involve domestic violence issues. While in law school, Layla was also employed at a domestic violence agency, initially performing Family Law related paralegal tasks. When she became a Certified Law Student, practiced law under the supervision of an attorney. After Layla became an attorney, the agency promoted her to the position of the Director of Legal Services.

Layal earned her Juris Doctorate from Lincoln Law School in 2019. She graduated cum laude and received special recognition at graduation for her achievements. Layla also made the Dean’s List and earned the Faculty Achievement Award for earning the highest grade in her Family Law course. In 2019, Layla passed the California State Bar Exam on her first attempt.

Layla ensures that her work product is prompt, scrupulous, and meticulous. She strives to be as efficient as possible and does what it takes to save her clients time, money, and heartache.

Layla lives in rural El Dorado County with her husband and daughter on a small hobby farm with alpacas, sheep, chickens, two dogs, and two cats. She has a wide range of hobbies, including gardening, ATV riding, shopping, and animal husbandry. Additionally, Ms. Cordero is an avid car enthusiast. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, she was involved in 4H where her daughter and now-adult son showed their chickens and alpacas at the county and state levels. Lately, in her free time, she enjoys working on her land. Layla hopes to someday race (and beat) her husband on the racetrack.

Layla's pet peeves include sloppy work, wasting time, and getting into cars that are low on gas.
