Biography

I am Kenneth Walton, though I prefer to be called "Ken." I am an attorney, advisor, and advocate with a solid foundation in employment law. A recent client remarked that "Ken’s knowledge base and competency is amazing, met by his level of compassion and understanding." My practical experience in workplace employment law is extensive, having served as counsel at several large federal agencies where I received awards for my work. I have provided advice and counsel in both straightforward and complex litigation across various areas of employment law.

I have also had the privilege of training hundreds of individuals, both in the U.S. and internationally, about their rights and responsibilities related to employment law. Additionally, I have taught contracts and employment law to law students and have assisted law school graduates in preparing for and passing their bar examinations. Throughout my career, I have been committed to upholding fairness and equity in the application of the rule of law, guided by Justice Thurgood Marshall’s belief that “Equality means getting the same thing, at the same time and in the same place.”

I hold degrees from the University of Cincinnati and the Thomas P. Backus School of Law at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. During my time in law school, I was honored with the John Wragg Kellogg and Martin Luther King Jr. awards for academic achievement. I was also a certified mediator. I am licensed to practice in Ohio, Maryland, and the District of Columbia and am a member of various state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Previously, I served as an adjunct professor at Howard University Law School in Washington, DC.
