- Justin has experience in a variety of complex commercial and business matters, including multi-district, class action consumer fraud litigation; disputes arising out of commercial transactions and involving matters of corporate governance; actions seeking emergency relief related to business dealings and contractual obligations; government investigations and enforcement actions; and securities litigation. Recent matters include defending a major pharmaceutical company in a multi-district, putative class action alleging fraudulent sales and marketing activities; representing a mutual fund in litigation against a shareholder who has made improper share purchases; representing a client in litigation to enforce the terms of a commercial lease; defending a financial services firm in a putative class action alleging improper public disclosures; representing a pharmaceutical company in obtaining dismissal of a putative class action alleging pricing improprieties; conducting an internal investigation of a public company regarding alleged accounting improprieties; and representing a private equity client in obtaining a preliminary injunction to prevent a portfolio company from entering an unfair transaction. Justin began at Ropes Gray in 1999. In 2002, he re-located to the island of Saipan, where he served as Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Justin handled a variety of criminal and civil matters in this position, practicing and appearing regularly in both Commonwealth and Federal Courts. In March 2005, Justin returned to Massachusetts and to his practice at Ropes Gray.
