Juan Ulises Arcia
Juan U. Arcia primarily practices in the area of patent prosecution in support of the Firm’s Electrical and Computer Technology Practice Group. He is a member of the Florida Bar.
Graduating 4th in his class at the Florida International University School of Law where he earned a J.D., Mr. Arcia holds an M.S. in Engineering Management, as well as a B.S. in Computer Engineering, cum laude, from Florida International University.
Mr. Arcia has extensive experience with software in multiple areas such as programming languages including: IEC 61131-3 process logic controller programming languages, Visual Basic, Pascal, Java, JSP, C/C++; server OS systems including: Windows Server 2003-2016, Linux, UNIX, MODCOMP; process control/HMI development including: Concept, Unity, Allen Bradley RSLogix, ABB Control Builder, GE iFix, Wonderware and Citect; and databases including: SQL, InSQL, iFIX.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Arcia was a Process Control Engineer for the City of Fort Lauderdale where for ten years he developed and managed the development of control system software and communication network systems. He began his engineering career as a Control Systems Engineer with Johnson and Johnson where he was responsible for automation of medical device manufacturing. Mr. Arcia is also a Commercial Pilot who has flown with the US Air Force Civil Air Patrol Auxiliary.
