Joshua’spractice includes representation of clients in criminal litigation, government enforcement actions, and federal and state grand jury investigations involving pharmaceutical companies, health care providers, securities fraud, criminal tax matters, and environmental crimes. Joshua’s recent activities include defense of a major pharmaceutical company in a wide-ranging criminal investigation into off-label promotion, fraudulent marketing, and pricing practices; defense of a pharmaceutical benefit manager in both criminal and civil investigations; defense of several pharmaceutical manufacturers in a number of different criminal and civil proceedings; representation of a national company in a criminal tax investigation and defense of a high ranking individual in the shipping industry charged with environmental crimes.Joshua also represented the Archdiocese of Boston in a federal criminal investigation that was successfully resolved without the filing of any criminal or civil charges.He has also conducted several internal investigations and represented many individuals in grand jury proceedings. Joshuaspent seven years as a federal prosecutor with the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts.He investigated and tried a wide range of white collar crimes, including securities fraud, terrorism financing, investor fraud, health care fraud, embezzlement, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, export violations, environmental crimes and telemarketing fraud.In 2003, Josh was profiled in an American Lawyer story about leading federal prosecutors for his work at the U.S. Attorney's Office.In 2000, Josh received the Attorney General’s Award for Exceptional Service for his outstanding contributions to the prosecution of National Medical Care.Prior to joining the government, Joshua spent four years at Ropes Gray as a litigation associate.
