John Carty graduated from UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco and passed the California Bar Examination, on his first attempt, in 1980. He has been a practicing California attorney since being sworn in on December 16, 1980. He has practiced law in Calaveras, Stanislaus, Sacramento, and San Joaquin Counties for his entire career.
