Poor communication and missed crucial deadlines , made mistakes that knocked the legs out of my case
My case was about a civil rights violation , where a federal employee , CBP agent slammed my head into the marble floor at a POE into the United States. After a Tort claim was filed the DOJ got involved and did their job of charging defendant and former
CBP officer with obstruction of justice and was found guilty and sentenced to about a year in prison. This was all done by DOJ prosecutors and staff. The civil suit is where Mr Lahann missed a crucial deadline by 3 months and filed documents with incorrect dates as well as addressing documents as representation for defendant rather than plaintiff which I was. It was not only the numerous errors , but also his lack of communication and respect to my case and person that made me feel I should share this with this forum. Mr Lahann most definitely did not make me feel like he cared about my case, especially when after making a mess out of a very strong case, he filed a MOTION TO WITHDRAW AS COUNCIL without following the rule of having my consent. In my opinion he did more favors for the Defendants than for my case in the long and short run. I am now having to consider going Pro Se , and representing myself because no one seems to want to clean up the mess this lawyer has made of my case. Maybe he is better at representing criminals than innocent victims in civil rights violation cases. It is possible that this sort of law practice is just not his strong suit. I will say he did NOT resolve my case , or provide satisfactory legal services, and not a professional approach due to missed crucial deadline and not knowing to sue The United States of America not just DOHS , CBP. If you take a case on, you must be diligent and knowledgeable over it and the proceedings, otherwise you end up with a real mess in the kitchen and you will turn and run .
