- Q. My son was written up for reckless driving after running a stop sign on a country road. Fine is $6250.
- A: That fine is the maximum fine for a class A misdemeanor.
Typically, that is not the fine that is imposed (at least I have never seen it/heard about it being imposed).
Your son would be wise to get an attorney, prior to his court date. In my opinion, it is usually best to find an attorney in the county or city where your son needs to appear for court.
- Q. Can my address be given away after a DUII before my court date? I received letters from attorney's regarding it.
- A: Direct mail marketing is a form of advertising that many attorneys use. The way they get this information is through public records requests for the arrest.

- A: This is an incredibly frustrating situation. Unfortunately, bad advice is not a defense. However it can be incredibly mitigating.
The notice issue could possibly be a defense, but, most of the time when someone is convicted of a DUII they sign a suspension notice right there in court.
