Jacob Chapman
John "Jacob" Chapman graduated cum laude from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2010. His primary practice areas include business litigation; general liability and products liability defense; personal injury; insurance coverage and defense; medical malpractice; labor and employment; family law; and state and municipal civil service law. Jacob is experienced drafting and reviewing all forms of contracts, including: employment agreements, non-competition agreements, operating agreements, independent contractor agreements, sales and lease documents, construction contracts, etc. He has represented contractors and homebuilders in New Home Warranty Act and related breach of contract claims. He has also represented physicians, hospitals, and other medical professionals at every stage of litigation, from the medical review panel all the way through the Louisiana Supreme Court.
Jacob is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and The Baton Rouge Lawyer Publications Committee. He is licensed to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Louisiana and at the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has earned a reputation as an effective litigator.
Jacob was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 2002, before attending Louisiana State University for college, where he majored in journalism with a minor in political science. When he is not in the courtroom, Jacob enjoys fishing, cooking, running, and cheering on the LSU Tigers. He and his wife Chelsey are the proud parents of three girls, Audrey, Madelyn, and Emery, and are parishioners at First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge. Jacob is a member of the St. Jude Men’s Club and a prior member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association's Pro Bono Committee.
