
Hallie Makrakis
ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY AT BLACKSTONE LAW
Hallie is an associate attorney at Blackstone Law. Prior to joining Blackstone, she worked primarily as a plaintiff’s side employment attorney providing legal representation to clients for claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination and wage & hour violations. Hallie has experience representing clients from the point of consultation through trial and has successfully mediated cases on behalf of her clients.
Hallie attended Chico State University where she majored in Political Science and minored in Criminal Justice before interning at a well-respected law firm in the Labor & Employment sector. She then attended Golden Gate University School of Law graduating with honors. Throughout law school Hallie advocated for employee rights through non-profit work at the Women’s Employment Rights Clinic and through Legal Aid at Work.
When Hallie is not litigating cases she enjoys golfing, hot yoga and hiking with her 10-year old rescue dog.

- The Women's Employment Rights Clinic aims to help disadvantaged workers in their employment capacity. Specifically, I helped workers facing retaliation by their employers in asserting their rights pursuant to California statute; and advised clients in asserting workplace harassment claims.

- The Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Clinic was set up through Legal Aid at Work to help combat the overwhelming number of Californians facing unemployment during the Pandemic. My role at the Clinic was to assist those affected by the Pandemic in applying for and navigating Unemployment through the Employment Development Department, including drafting detailed plans to ensure applicants were successful; challenging setbacks within the EDD system and; determining applicants eligible for appeal.
