Prior to joining Ropes Gray in 2007, Erik was a partner at another international law firm. He represents clients with respect to tax aspects of domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures; has served as tax counsel to issuers and underwriters in connection with debt and equity financings; and has provided tax advice regarding the formation of, and investments in, U.S. and non-U.S. investment funds. Erik also has extensive experience with tax issues affecting regulated investment companies, and has advised debtors and creditors with respect to tax aspects of debt restructurings, both in and out of bankruptcy.
