Ellaretha Coleman's Response: Mr. Moore, your review is simply untrue. While we regret that you were unhappy with the legal process, I want to correct the inaccuracies in your review. We were retained to represent you in a legitimation action. Unfortunately, in Georgia, the biological father of a child born out of wedlock has no legal or custodial rights to the child until they obtain an order of legitimation from Superior Court. That is the circumstance that you found yourself in when you hired our office. During the course of our representation, we were able to obtain a legitimation order establishing you as the legal father of your child and establishing a visitation schedule which granted you more than standard visitation. We also obtained an order appointing a guardian ad litem on your behalf to investigate the allegations made by you against your child's mother to give you a stronger position in your quest for primary physical custody. We were able to obtain this relief for you outside of court as the first available hearing date your judge had available was several weeks away. Additionally, we were able to prevent collection activity against you by the Department of Child Support Recovery while we fought your legitimation and custody action. Unfortunately, we can not change the process for unwed fathers, however, we could provide a remedy and results which is what we did in your case. Our office prides itself on ensuring that parents like yourself can be heavily involved in raising their children. This is why we went to bat to make sure that even on a temporary basis, your son could be with you more than just every other weekend because you were not a weekend father. If you still have questions regarding what work was performed in your case, we invite you to schedule an appointment with our office and we would be happy to go over your signed orders and your invoices.
