Q. Can my 16 year old sister come live with me if our step mom is mistreating her she cut her off from everyone in her life
A: Unfortunately, your sister is a minor and her father will be able to control where and with whom she lives.
Q. Does a father who is not legitimized have to cooperate with dfcs?
A: This will really depend on the circumstances and what the father wants to accomplish. If he is seeking custody and there is a pending dependency action, likely yes.
Q. My son is not legitimized dfcs were granted a tpr on me yesterday can i legitimise ny son now and file for adoption
A: If a termination of your parental rights has already been granted, you are no longer eligible to legitimize your son.
Q. What is the best process for changing my entire name (in Georgia)?
A: In order to change your first and middle name in Georgia, you will need to file a petition to change name in the superior court of the county in which you live. To change your last name pursuant to marriage, you will only need your executed marriage certificate.
Q. Can my daughters step mother make me make up time with my daughter because I got her for a Christmas dinner?
A: You and your child's father are the only two with rights to decide how to split parenting time with your daughter.
Q. I dont got that kind of money i still havent been able to het legetimized
A: If you are having trouble getting legitimized through the court on your own, it may be your best bet to save up your resources to hire an attorney. I recognize that lawyers are expensive, but we know the legal process and are often able to cut through a lot of the red tape to get results efficiently.
Q. How do i go about trying to take the mother ti court .she was arrested for fva trying to beat her mom up with child ther
A: If you have concerns with the child's safety while with the mom, you would need to petition the court for custody or for a modification of custody if there is currently a custody order. You should consult with an attorney as soon as possible while the allegations are fresh.
Q. Daughter is 17 she just got braces. Our divorce decree says father and mother share the cost after whatever insurance
A: Yes, that is correct. Once the child turns 18 and graduates from high school both the child support obligation and medical bill reimbursement will cease.
Q. Father has every other weekend visit w/our son (Friday after school until Sunday night) but he never picks up our son
A: You do not have to agree, but you need to weigh the importance of spending time with his father against the inconvenience of him not maintaining the ordered schedule. You may also want to consider a modification of the current parenting plan if he is not consistently exercising his scheduled time.
