HARASSMENT OR DISCRIMINATION AT WORK. WRONGFUL DISCHARGE. WORKERS COMPENSATION.
Workplace law is tricky and the consequences of not following the law are serious. I represent individuals who have been harmed, either due to wrongful employer practices or accidents. If you have suffered from discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, or a workplace injury, you need a strong lawyer on your side.
CAR ACCIDENTS, WRONGFUL DEATH. PERSONAL INJURY.
The types of injuries I deal with can create a ripple effect that changes everything for a whole family in an instant. I understand and have over two decades of experience fighting these fights. When I worked for insurance companies, I often handled cases worth tens of millions of dollars. When I was badly hurt in a car accident, I decided that someday, I would start my own practice so I could help people struggling with injuries.
BIOGRAPHY.
I have been licensed to practice law in New Mexico since 1998. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with highest honors in 1995. In 1998, I graduated with honors from Georgetown University Law Center after serving as an Administrative Editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. After law school, I moved to New Mexico to begin my law career at a large firm in Albuquerque. I then practiced with large firms and a Fortune 500 company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, gaining great experience on cases that drew national attention.
In 2008, I brought my family back to New Mexico, where I continued to get trial and litigation experience in all aspects of injury law, medical malpractice and employment law. I founded the Buchanan Law Firm, LLC in 2019 and am based in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

- Q. I was laid off of work while on FMLA. What can I do?
- A: This situation may trigger retaliation claims under the FMLA, the ADA, and the NM Human Rights Act. You should contact an experienced New Mexico employment lawyer to discuss the details. Most of us offer consultations or case reviews for free. There are fairly short time limits for pursuing these claims, so please contact someone soon and good luck with resolving this.
- Q. What is the statute of limitations for a premise liability claim? I was assaulted by two individuals in a parking lot
- A: The statute of limitations for injury claims is three years in NM. If you were a minor, you have up to an extra year after you turn 18. If the claim is against the government, it is a shorter deadline.
- Q. As a victim of hit and run j with great bodily harm, shouldn't I recieve summons or subpoena to give my story to courts?
- A: You can sue her in civil court. Our firm is currently representing someone in a hit and run case in Albuquerque.
