Biography

I am a dedicated criminal defense attorney. I have three wonderful grown children, and I am raising my 11-year-old son pretty much on my own. Much of my work is done at our home, where I can conveniently work at odd hours and be there for Alex when he comes home from school.

I work with my clients. We look for ways to get cases dismissed, and then we consider approaches to winning an acquittal. My years of experience and their knowledge of relevant facts combine to seek the best outcome possible
Plea bargains are often necessary, but they are a last resort. This sets me apart from many attorneys who take criminal cases.

I can't turn away a person who is in trouble and is asking for my help. I need to be paid before I enter my appearance in court and formally become someone's lawyer, but a significant portion of my professional time is dedicated to providing information and advice to people in need, regardless of whether they hire me.

I aggressively seek out information. I don't just rely on what the prosecutor gives me and formal depositions. Things said and recorded over the police radio band can be very useful. Sometimes the fact that the government's confidential informant is still dealing drugs at the time of trial is relevant to prove his motivation and access to illegal drugs he could pretend to buy from my client. Each case is unique and deserves a thoughtful approach.
