David Keith Kelley

DAVID K. KELLEY, JR., brings to the firm substantial unique experience.

He served as a criminal prosecutor for the United States serving as Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, concentrating on white collar fraud and tax evasion cases. He also served as a member of the Federal Court as a criminal defense attorney in the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Southern District of Florida. He became a member of the Federal Court Trial Bar in its first year 1976.

Mr. Kelley's trial practice with Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley PA focuses on personal injury, product liability and professional negligence, including medical malpractice. He has an AV Peer Review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

A former member of the Palm Beach County Committee for the Needs of Children, Mr. Kelley has also served on the board of directors and as chairman of the Grievance Committee for The Florida Bar for Palm Beach County. His professional memberships include the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and the Federal District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Palm Beach County Bar Association, and is a former member of The Ohio Bar.

Mr. Kelley belongs to The American Association for Justice, formerly known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and serves as an EAGLE member of the Florida Justice Association, formerly known as the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers. He has lectured at Stetson University as an adjunct professor of advanced trial tactics.

A native Floridian, Mr. Kelley graduated cum laude from Ohio State University College of Law. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, serving on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. His interests include promoting youth in sports organizations in Palm Beach County.
