Cooper Mayne

Cooper Alison-Mayne became an integral part of the Law Offices of Dale K. Galipo in March 2023. Before joining this distinguished firm, he gained invaluable experience as a Judicial Law Clerk at the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. During his tenure at the court, Cooper refined his expertise in legal research and writing by drafting orders on a diverse array of cases, many of which involved complex issues of police misconduct. His time at the court provided him with a deep understanding of the intricacies of civil rights litigation and the judicial process.

Cooper earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from UCLA School of Law, where he cultivated a strong foundation in civil rights and police misconduct law through an extensive curriculum that focused on these critical areas. His academic journey was marked by his commitment to justice and public service, which was further evidenced by his internship at the Los Angeles Alternate Public Defender's Office. There, Cooper gained hands-on experience in the criminal justice system, skillfully managing the discovery process and drafting pivotal legal documents, such as motions to suppress evidence, which are crucial in protecting defendants' rights.

In addition to his internship, Cooper's role as a research assistant for the UCLA COVID-19 Behind Bars Data Project allowed him to contribute to a groundbreaking analysis of how the U.S. justice system responded to the coronavirus pandemic within jails and prisons. His work on this project not only highlighted the systemic challenges within the incarceration system but also underscored his dedication to advocating for vulnerable populations.
