Chris has extensive experience representing private equity and financial services firms and their directors and officers in complex business litigation, including securities fraud class actions, corporate governance matters, actions seeking emergency relief, and other complex civil litigation. Chris has also represented a number of financial services firms and public companies in investigations conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission and other federal and state regulators. Chris was recently involved in representing mutual fund complexes relating to the widespread investigations and actions concerning market timing practices. He has represented investment management and financial services firms in a number of securities matters with alleged damages reaching in excess of a hundred million dollars. Chris regularly counsels private equity firms, mutual fund complexes, financial services firms, and public companies in advance of litigation, and he routinely advises clients in creating and implementing policies and procedures designed to ensure compliance with the federal securities laws. Chris has also led several internal investigations relating to alleged accounting fraud and other compliance matters. Chris also has extensive experience representing clients on complex insurance matters. He currently represents London and European insurers in multi-billion dollar coverage litigation relating to the September 11th destruction of the World Trade Center, and has represented clients with respect to other claims of several hundred million dollars arising from the attack on the World Trade Center. Chris has represented insurance clients with respect to first-party property and third-party liability claims, including an action involving asbestos and silica liability with alleged damages exceeding $350 million. In 2005, Chris served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted over a dozen criminal jury and bench trials, and argued evidentiary motions, arraignments, and hearings on a daily basis.
