- Prior to joining Ropes Gray in 1995, Al spent five years as the Director of Underwriting and Electronic Data Processing for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New York, and spent 15 years as the Manager of Actuarial Projects and Underwriting for a major insurance carrier. He has considerable experience in the design and pricing of a variety of medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, short and long term disability, life insurance and retiree benefit plans and extensive data modeling and actuarial skills. He has expertise in computer spreadsheet and database software and performs complex data analysis to assist his clients in designing and pricing benefit programs, developing optimal employee contribution strategies, budget forecasting, and compliance.
