Overview

About Mr. Damon Chetson

Damon Chetson is a Raleigh criminal lawyer and trial lawyer who represents North Carolinians charged with serious felonies, misdemeanors, and Driving While Impaired (DWI/DUI) and drunk driving charges. He represents people charged in state or federal courts in North Carolina.

He has successfully handled cases involving serious violent felonies - habitual felon, sex assaults, drug trafficking, drug crimes, and theft, embezzlement, and fraud crimes. He also works extensively to resolve less serious crimes, including Driving While Impaired (DWI/DUI/Drunk Driving), Hit and Run, drug possession, larceny, and counterfeit trademark, and shoplifting charges.

The Chetson Firm works in Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Fuquay-Varina (Wake County), Durham, Pittsboro (Chatham County), Dunn, Erwin, Lillington, (Harnett County), Smithfield (Johnson County), and surrounding communities in the Research Triangle of North Carolina.

He has represented people before both federal and state courts, and has secured excellent outcomes for his clients, including many diversion, deferral, dismissal, and favorable plea agreements.

He charges reasonable fees, and is able to offer flexible payment plans in many cases. He accepts all major credit cards - Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AmEx - or most other forms of payment.

Before law school, Damon Chetson worked in politics and public policy, advising politicians about economic and legal policy in Washington, DC and Arizona. He has been published on policy and politics in numerous newspapers. In law school, Mr. Chetson was a staff member of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology and a member of the Actual Innocence Project.

He is the author of "Perfect 10 and Contributory Liability," published in the NC Journal of Law & Technology (2007) which focused copyright law's impact on search engines such as Google.

Among other results, his legal work in law school for the Wake County Public Defender led to a not-guilty jury verdict for one client accused of Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, and reduced charges for another client when he uncovered evidence showing that the prosecution's felony charges could not be proven.

Mr. Chetson and his wife live in the suburbs of Raleigh.
