Dismissive, argumentative and lazy I contracted Ryan as a divorce attorney in 2021 and it was not a pleasant experience. He picked up my case and I paid him a weekly fee. Sometimes work wasn't done and sometimes it wasn't, but that's the pricing model we agreed on. No problem, except he didn't want to meet until 1-2 weeks to discuss our mediation plan. So I'd send him emails asking for info from opposing party. I would never hear back from him and would need to call setup an appointment to ask him. It felt like nothing had gotten done. Maybe it was opposing party that was slacking, but then my (ex) spouse told me he was waiting on Ryan to get daycare report back so he can begin paying! Nothing. I sent the report 3 weeks ago and I am still paying for all the daycare. Then mediation comes around- he had setup a call so we can do a mediation plan. He gets on the phone and just asks me if I have any questions for him. That's it. Does he think I've been doing this for as long as him or something? This is my FIRST DIVORCE and he isn't providing counsel! I told him my (ex) spouse picked up debt I had no idea what from or if it's marital. He says he'll try and get statements. Does he? No. He says mediation isn't where you have that documentation. True-- but info is power and why not?? He is totally ill-prepared. When I would challenge him on this, he would openly get offended and tell me "trust me... Done this hundreds of time" treating my case like a run of the mill. Nevermind the actual details of my case. I would never ever recommend him, ever. It is obvious he has his own issues to work out and doesn't truly care about his client. I am 100% confident he would've served me on a silver platter to opposing party during mediation. He was never in my corner. For these reasons, I terminated him day before mediation.
