Abandoned my case with a day and half before deadline Hired Atty Rathi for an immigration case. I brought my husband of 6 years over here on a visa. Twice we were told, in writing, that the paperwork was submitted to get his Green Card. His paralegal, Lauren Brouillard, though, objected to the case, and the attorney said he would not continue because his paralegal objected. We received notice of this a day and a half before the visa would have expired even though we had hired him ten months previously. Then they told us they had NOT submitted the case. That left us with the option of finding an attorney within a day and a half, hiring them, and having the paperwork submitted so the visa would not expire or send my husband home. In the end, we had to say our goodbyes again. Atty Rathi could be a fine attorney who, I'm sure. In this case, though, it was the paralegal that objected to a case of two gay men in an interracial marriage. What if the paralegal objects to your case? What if the paralegal is not committed to helping your family get together for whatever? I find that an untenable, unprofessional and diametrical to a commitment to the law. I did get the refund back, but we are apart now because of her selfish decision. View More

Roger Rathi's Response: We are so sorry that this case was not handled better. The client has done a fair review. However, we did advise the client that because of certain issues in his case, he should seek out a "specialist" in the field. We also refunded the entire money. We always learn from our clients to do better the next time. - Roger
