Taken advantage of by this lawyer
She is the absolutely the worst lawyer. She manipulated the entire case to prolong the divorce. She constantly complained about how she knew that my ex’s lawyer had gotten paid more than her. In the end she was able to get 28,000 total from me for this divorce (and she wanted more). My ex husband makes over 90 grand a year. I get no child support, and he gets extended standard even though he’s abusive and treats the kids horribly. I tried firing her 2 times but never succeeded because she
talked me out of it each time. I had to hire a new lawyer and pay quite a bit to try and change everything. My girls don’t want to be with him anymore. She put my kids in danger and never had the best interest of my children. If you can listen to anything I’m saying, DO NOT HIRE HER! She works for herself and if she is practicing again beware because she retired after my case according to my new attorney at that time. I can only pray that God will take revenge over her to pay back for all of the deceitful things she did to hurt me and my girls during this process. Margaret is good at answering her phone and acting like she cares but it’s only to reel in the most vulnerable clients. Especially If you were in an abusive relationship, please steer clear of this person. She doesn’t care about you or your kids. I have verified that she was working hand in hand with my ex husbands attorney during this divorce and I can most definitely provide evidence with regards to that if needed. I contacted her personally from my cell phone to let her know the things I found out and she was quick to pretend she didn’t remember me then through text messages, she stated, “what is it that I want from her?” I can only hope to hear back from the people who are looking into this or if nothings else, i hope that this review will save someone else from considering hiring her as an attorney. If you want to file a complaint to the texas bar association, here is her bar number # 00795801. I guarantee based on the rest of the reviews on here that she is still practicing. I strongly encourage those that were taken advantage of to please file a complaint otherwise she will continue to hurt people that dont deserve it. She should not be practicing law and using her knowledge to take advantage of people.
