Justin Dolan

Justin cares more about people than profit. He took a challenging case when no one else would. I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to Justin Dolan. To me, he is my angel. For two years, I begged and pleaded for someone to help me fight back against my abusive husband of twelve years, and his small town, “good ol’ boy” lawyer. I had no money, no car, my kids were taken, I was destitute. I was even told by Texas legal aid. “Don’t hold your breath.” I had to represent myself in court. I lost absolutely everything. My children, my homes, absolutely every single one of my rights. Gone. Because of the love I have for my children, I didn’t give up. I had to find an appellate lawyer. I wrote the Texas bar of appellate lawyers that offered “pro bono” services. For a long time I heard nothing. I was told “I’m sorry, we have no one available to help you.” I wrote back one more time and said “does anyone care that four children have lost their mother?” That was it. I was without hope.. I decided that morning I would sign the divorce papers. It was done and I lost. Everything. …not 24 hours later I recieved an email from the lady who sends your story out to pro bono lawyers and said, “we have found a lawyer to take your case. Justin Dolan.” I was in tears. Finally. Someone heard me calling for help. From the very beginning Justin was so hands on, explaining absolutely everything in detail to make sure I understood exactly what we could do and how to do it. He went above and beyond in making sure I would get every possible thing I needed that was just and fair post trial. My situation was extremely sticky and had Justin not been there for me, I might as well have been signing my soul to the devil. He changed a major part of my decree that potentially would have lost me 100,000 in equity in my marital home. Got me revised visits with my kids. And above all, gave me faith back in humanity. It was the most depressing 2 1/2 years of my life. He calls me to check in on me. Gives me advice. I am forever grateful to this man. It is so hard to find a lawyer that cares more about people than profit. Someone who understands, and can relate. Compassion is hard to come by it seems… people are so quick to judge, but Justin took a chance on an almost impossible situation out of the kindness of his heart for someone he’d never met, who lives hours away.
