I have known Ed Smith since 1982 when we rented rooms for our practice from the same law firm. I have watched him become, in my opinion, the best personal injury and auto accident attorney in the region.

I have referred many of my bankruptcy clients to him over the years to deal with their personal injury issues because of the high quality of his legal work and skill. I have also had him refer his personal injury clients to me when they needed bankruptcy services. Working together on mutual clients have given them the best attorneys in both fields.

I have worked with Ed Smith many times over the years with many mutual clients. That is from 1982 through 2020.
Q. Was this lawyer an effective advocate/counselor and why?
Yes

He understands how to reach his clients in a friendly and professional manner. At the same time he can either be an attorney who will use his skill to negotiate an excellent settlement for his clients or fight it out tooth and nail in court to get his clients the best results.

Legal Knowledge: Excellent

He has always been the attorney that is willing to put in the work to stay at the pinnacle of his knowledge.

Legal Analysis: Excellent

He takes the time to consider every aspect of a case. Then he determines how to present his client's case in the best light while bringing down the insurance companies if they are not smart enough to settle the case. When I first started my law practice, I would look at the quality of his settlement books and decided that it would be better to be the best in another field rather than try to beat him in his field. It ended up we both could be the best on our separate fields.

Communication Skills: Excellent

I have sent many clients to him. They have all been happy with his representation. They love him. He doesn't have to have an attitude with his client to do the job right. Given he gets such good results, he must have the communication skills needed to present his client's case in a way that gets smart insurance company attorneys to settle the case.

Ethics and Professionalism: Excellent

In my 38 years of knowing Ed Smith, I have never seen anything or heard anyone question his integrity. He is one one of the few attorneys out there that I consider at the top when it comes to honesty, ethics and professionalism.
