After learning that my spouse of 30 years wanted a divorce I went on the search for a lawyer. Scheduled an appointment with Dean Hines. He was out sick that day but still called me, so I thought I found the one! Wow, I couldn't have done worse! One of the absolutely rudest people I have ever encountered. First, the attorney is about 90 years old and he forgets what he tells you.Second, he can't remember what he has and hasn't done. I submitted all my required paperwork. I did have a lot of questions and all he kept telling me is not to be this kind and to trust him. After my case was completed, he told me I complained too much and if I have an issue to come to his offices and handle it like a man. View More

Dean Edward Hines' Response: It is unfortunate that this gentleman was unhappy with the legal services provided on his behalf. Frankly, the legal services provided were excellent and it appears that this gentleman is not complaining about the result. This person was extremely bitter with the entire process and did not understand that the lawyer is on your side. This bitterness evidenced itself by constant rudeness with both myself and staff. Apparently, this person felt the need to “lash out” being unhappy with the process and divorce in general. As one can see from the nature of his complaints, they appear to be personal in nature against me. For some reason, this person wants to try to “age shame” me claiming that I am about 90 years old, forgetful, etc.. No, Chris I am 63. This person also appears to want to involve my spouse who is one of my paralegals for no apparent reason other than to claim that she is not 90 years old. Further, Chris has decided to bring up some incident from the past that occurred some 16 years ago which has no relevance today and in regards to the management of his case. My thinking is that nobody (other than Chris) cares what happened 16 years ago. Chris also claims that I lost my license for some period of time which is blatantly incorrect and he is aware that this is a false statement. In regards to coming to my office and handling matters “like a man”, this is a statement that Chris made to me in somewhat of a threatening manner. Remember, Chris is bitter. I would suggest that anybody reading this review should research further the rest of my reviews as I do not recall even one other bad review from a divorce client. Typically any bad reviews that I get on a divorce come from the other party in the case complaining about some process that has not been to their benefit that we initiated. My prior reviews, qualifications, and years of experience speak for themselves. Anybody reading this review and contemplating a divorce should understand that the lawyer you retain is your ally and on your side and there is no reason to be rude and venomous towards your own lawyer and his/her staff.

Whiniest man in Ohio I used him for a tax thing. He followed up once in over a year. Poor communication. Very poor. A year later I emailed him for a very uncomplicated situation…(very simple for Dean’s ability) .. No reply. I emailed again. Paralegal said yes, they got my email, Dean will call me tomorrow. Dean did not call that day or the next. I wrote again are you still in business? Then the whiney snowflake appeared. Accusing his paying client of being dumb to assume he’s out of business. Social interactions are this lawyer’s downfall. View More
