Kim is a native Atlantan who grew up in a family of attorneys. She knew at a young age that she had a passion for the law and wanted to be an attorney.

Kim attended the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, graduating at the top of her class. Steven Fairchild graduated from Georgetown Law in 2006 and subsequently moved to New York City. There, he worked for a number of years in large firms (Morgan & Finnegan and Loeb & Loeb), mostly on complex patent litigation cases. After having gained the experience with corporate law firms, Steve ventured on his own and branched out into other areas of intellectual property, in addition to handling other civil litigation matters.
