Jeffrey (Jeff) C. Kerby attended Wayne State University Law School, where he was an active member of the Wayne Law Moot Court team. He argued against law students from across the country, participating in two nationwide competitions held in New York City. Jeff was also a member of the Wayne Law Review, where he was responsible for reviewing and editing scholarly articles written by prominent attorneys, judges, and law professors. Tom has worked both as a public defender and in private practice. He has appeared in Oregon courts from the Oregon Supreme Court down to the local Justice courts. He has had a litigation based practice for more than three decades. Tom has two main interests in the law--aggressive defense of adults and children charged with crimes and zealous representation of children and adults in the juvenile dependency system. Legal Expertise Representation of tax-exempt organizations and nonprofits in a wide range of tax, transactional, corporate, governance and fiduciary matters (including formation, mergers and acquisitions, executive compensation, international activities and affiliations, unrelated business taxable income, joint ventures, conservation easements, tax return review, tax-exempt bonds and dissolutions).
