You-Ran Handy
You-Ran Handy is a native of Seoul, South Korea. She obtained her B.A. from the University of Virginia and Juris Doctor degree from Vermont Law School. While in undergraduate and law school, she did various internships with government agencies, non-profit organizations, large business corporations such as Samsung, and law firms in both South Korea and the United States. Upon being admitted to the Vermont Bar, she worked with experienced attorneys in the field of Immigration Law before setting up her own practice as an immigration attorney. Ms. Handy has assisted individuals as well as businesses to meet their immigration needs. Through her experience, Ms. Handy developed a comprehensive knowledge of immigration law, ranging from obtaining citizenship to immigrant and nonimmigrant visas. Not only did Ms. Handy develop an understanding in the field of immigration law through assisting clients, but as a native of South Korea and married to an American citizen, she has also gone through the steps of obtaining legal permanent residence. Also, throughout her school years in the United States as a foreign student, she has gone through the steps of obtaining visas, including filing applications and interviewing with the Homeland Security, which can be a complicated and time-consuming process. Thus, Ms. Handy understands the need of her clients and strives to provide them with a personable experience.
