Travis Jackson - Honest, reliable, respectful and talented lawyer My family and I live outside of MA and needed legal advice regarding an Estate Trust and the Sale of a home in MA. Travis and his team supported us through the process. He was accessible via email and phone for any questions or concerns. It was a complicated new situation for us and he provided everything remotely. He has a strong sense of clarity and addresses any urgent issues immediately with confidence and reassurance. I would 100 percent call upon Travis again for any legal needs in his expertise.

Q. My late father has unclaimed money being held by the Commomwealth of Mass. I understand he may have died in debt
A: To claim the money you will need to be Personal Representative or Voluntary Administrator (for smaller estates) of his Estate. If you are, you will not assume his debt individually, the Estate would, the Estate needs to pay liabilities prior to distributing to its beneficiaries. If you have been appointed the Personal Representative of his Estate previously by filing a Probate in Massachusetts and the one year creditor period has passed, any creditor will have difficulty collecting. An ex wife is not a surviving spouse.
