Biography

Timothy Lenahan is an experienced attorney who has worked on over 1,500 employment matters,

Timothy graduated with honors with a Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire School of Law, while also earning a Masters in Business Administration degree from Paul College at the University of New Hampshire.

With 7+ years of professional experience, Tim boasts an extensive track record of representing clients across a spectrum of employment cases, including unpaid wages and overtime cases, discrimination complaints, harassment complaints and litigation in front of various courts and US government agencies.

Timothy has worked on hundreds of wage and overtime cases, and as such, has recovered money for many people who were not paid properly under New York law. These unpaid wage cases oftentime result from companies attempting to circumvent overtime laws by misclassifying their employees as having an annual salary, when they should have been paid hourly, and should have received overtime for any hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week.

With extensive experience serving clients in New York City, Timothy deeply understands the intricacies of employment law and carries the legal acumen to handle even the most complex cases. His commitment to honesty, straightforwardness, and clear communication, make him a trusted advocate for his clients, ensuring they navigate legal matters with confidence and support.

He is most proud of the work that he has done with people who typically would not be able to receive legal help. Timothy works on all cases, whether big or small, to achieve justice for his clients.

Legal Answers
3 Questions Answered
Q. In NYC can I insist in communicating with my boss thru email rather than in person to leave a paper trail for protection
A: You can ask your boss, but he is not violating any law that I can think of by not agreeing to conduct all work related communications with you through email.
Q. Does an employer, have to tell the employee, that they are recording when asked by the employee in NY State?
A: New York is what is called a one-party consent state. That means that as long as one of the people involved knows that they are being recorded, it is generally legal to record. But to fully answer your question, more details would be needed.
Q. If an administrator tells you that you have no business teaching children of another race and have been denied promotion
A: From what you described, you may potentially have a claim for discrimination based on race. You should speak to an employment lawyer about the details of your specific situation.
