Professional Experience

- Harvatin Law Offices PC
- - Current
- I began practicing law in Springfield Illinois in 1981. In 2000, my partner became a judge, and I have been solo since that time. I formerly took on virtually any case. But the law has now grown too complicated for me to be "all things to all people". As a result, I limit my practice to a few areas, and I know the law in those areas quite well.

Legal Answers
547 Questions Answered
- Q. How should I plead to a "driving too fast for conditions" citation after a minor accident?
- A: Other driver probably will not show up and the ticket will be dismissed. Otherwise ask for court supervision.
- Q. Pulled over for suspended registration due to insurance lapse, court date set.
- A: You are eligible for supervision. there will be a fine plus you will have to carry SR 22 for three years. if you take a conviction the fine will be less, your license will be suspended for 3 months and you will not have to carry SR 22
- Q. Consequences of improper left yield ticket with collision in Illinois?
- A: Most likely, if you had insurance covering the accident, the other driver will not show up and the ticket will be dismissed. If the other driver shows that show up you can request court supervision. The consequences will be a small fine. The amount depends on factors that vary by courthouse.
