In 2010 I won 1st place in Adult Advanced Articles, 1st place in Adult Poetry and 3rd place in Features. In 2013 I won First Place in Adult Poetry. In 2014 I was named as Judge for Poetry for National competition. I have won Regional and National awards for about 15 years with this organization. When you win 1st place nationally, you are disqualified from entering again for 2 years.

- Activities: I started the FREE Continuing Legal Education program when the State Bar of Texas first started the CLE Program, and the North Harris County Bar Associate still has that program.

- Board Member and Chairman of a Committee which got a Bill passed by the Texas Legislature

- Activities: I was a member for about 20 years; I started and headed a committee which over three years, was able to get Legislation passed, limiting what healthcare providers could charge patients and attorneys for medical and billing records, correcting abuse by some doctors who charged outrageous amounts to patients for copies of their own records. I was assisted by my fellow member, now District Judge, Robert Schaffer. We made many trips to Austin. I wrote the original Bill, which as usual saw a number of changes, but amazingly was passed and signed into law. I also worked on a number of other projects for the HTLA.
