Stephanie K. Faris
Personal, proactive, and focused estate planning and elder law.
Stephanie joined the Cary Estate Planning team in May of 2023 as an Estate Planning Lawyer. She spent a combined eight years as a solo estate planning practitioner and then pro bono attorney in Pittsboro, North Carolina. She believes in proactive planning at all stages of our lives and aims to provide client-centered service.
Stephanie lived in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Ohio before attending Duke University in North Carolina, where she studied comparative religion. She relocated permanently to Chatham County after returning to Ohio briefly to study at Miami University.
During law school at North Carolina Central University, Stephanie served as Symposium Editor of the N.C. Central Law Review, President of OutLaw, and Secretary of the Women’s Law Caucus. She also volunteered extensively with the Pro Bono Project, earning the N.C. Bar Association Certificate for more than 75 hours of pro bono service. Stephanie earned the David Jolly Award for Outstanding Student Leadership and Support of the N.C. Central LGBTA Resource Center and graduated cum laude.
Stephanie lives in Pittsboro with her husband, two children, and their dogs, where she enjoys running and gardening, as well as volunteering for the Chatham County Schools and CORA.
