Please beware! Hiring Southworth PC was the biggest mistake of my life. I had a very strong case as I was employed by my federal agency for 33 years with a meticulous record and many awards. Shaun Southworth, although on initial contact seems nice, is actually a very nasty and arrogant man. He took my money in increments of $5,000 and used it up rapidly .. no visible result …this is a fact. When my funds ran out he put me on on a payment plan and then my case was reassigned to another lawyer. I fought this case for five years finally getting to US Federal Court and the other lawyer filed my case in the wrong format so the Federal Judge disregarded ALL of my disputed facts using the Justice Department ‘s overly false narrative to dismiss my case. Shaun’s response to me was basically “well all courts and states are different!” That’s a fact. Isn’t that what his job is .. to know how to properly file a case in the proper format in Federal Court? He was supposedly monitoring my case. He took no responsibility for this mistake and damaging loss. He then immediately dropped me as a client. He refused to even explain the Judges decision to me… this is a fact. he refused to respond to my subsequent inquiries as of what to do. This is a fact. I have no means to Appeal now. This loss was devastating both financially and emotionally. I had hundreds of pages of emails and witnesses to support my case that never was considered partially because Shaun refused to depose my witnesses to save money even though I asked, for repeatedly, so nothing was on record in support of my case. This is a fact. It was an epic fail and it all goes back to Shaun Southworth . I am devastated by this as my 33 year career meant a lot to me. Please do not make the mistake I did and please do your homework. Seek out his negative reviews. I have been monitoring and screenshotting his negative reviews for several years now and there is a pattern for sure.I have also have contacted the FTC and Ga DA’s office regarding this firm. If enough people file complaints something may happen. Its absurd. Shaun once told me to shut up! He thought I didn’t know what I was talking about but when he finally listened to what I was saying he realized I was right and knew what I was talking about … he offered no apology. It really was a horrible experience from start to finish working with this law firm. The frustration was off the charts. He bills you approx $48 for every message you put in the portal even though he doesn’t respond. He on several occasions scheduled phone calls with me that they never bothered to call or even inform me the call was off … when I put a message in portal ( after waiting hours for them to call) asking if the call was off or going to reschedule … he charged me about $48 for that!!!!! This is a fact.

At your own risk. Southworth exploited the fact that I was in a hostile and prejudiced working environment to his own personal benefit. Made several mistakes in documents submitted on my behalf and charged me thousands of dollars in the process. Ruining a great case that I had and that any other experienced lawyer would've helped me to handle with ease and grace. A good attorney should put your mind at ease and understand what their clients are going through and dealing with. This is not Southworth at all in my opinion. Including submitting recycled copy and pasted documents used for other clients with the other persons last name STILL in the document. Putting incorrect information in the document saying that EEO Counselor contact isn't protected activity when it actually is. Absolutely ruined my case. Southworth puts more effort into faking as a reputable federal employee law firm instead of actually being one. To timid to object during the impromptu meeting that was called but yelled at me that I did not know the law and hung up in my face on the phone. Mistreating your own client??? Spent over $10,000 and didn’t even get a hearing with the EEOC. A gigantic waste of time and money retaining Southworth. I was charged the most money possible and when I needed to speak with Shaun he was NEVER available. Not to mention he always filed my motions & paperwork at the last moment. After calling and emailing a dozen times, Southworth did not send my federal complaint to me until the 90th day to file. Southworth didn't even include in his last minute email that it was the final and last day to file my lawsuit. I filed it the next day thinking that it was the 90th day, so now my case might get dismissed. This guy charged me over $10,000 ($7.5k of it upfront) when I am out here struggling to make it. I should've dropped this guy when he told me that I "didn't know the law" and then hung up in my face. You took advantage of my need of legal assistance and used that to make money. Please do your research before using Southworth.
