Biography

My practice includes all aspects of commercial and residential construction, including office buildings, high rise buildings and single-family residences. I have extensive business experience in real estate transactions and development, have worked with owners, developers, landlords and tenants in all areas of real estate acquisition, financing, development, leasing and sale. I also have significant experience addressing HOA disputes. My project involvement includes several multi-family buildings and condominiums in the greater Houston area. Although my practice is focused on the area of construction and real estate development issues, I have handled a wide range of litigation matters as well as contract negotiations, including significant cases in intellectual property and trade secret theft, business disparagement, board-member fiduciary claims, and defended several personal injury cases. I devote considerable time to the advancement and development of minority legal professionals by serving as Co-Chair for the Houston Bar Association's Minority Opportunity in Law Program for 2014-2015 and the HBA's Gender Fairness Committee for 2015-2016. I also serve as mediator and arbitrator in the Houston area including several pro bono cases for the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center.

While I often handle matters on a traditional hourly or contingency fee arrangement, my firm also offers a more creative approach with flat fee and monthly retainer arrangements. In addition we also offer hybrid fee agreements involving a reduced hourly component and a smaller contingency fee, which allows my firm to share the risks and rewards with our clients.
