Shannon McLin
Appeals and Trial Support Throughout Florida
Shannon McLin founded a boutique appellate law firm after serving as a staff attorney at Florida's Fifth District Court of Appeal. In 2019, she opened Florida Appeals, a statewide appellate firm with seven appellat lawyers practicing complex civil appellate litigation throughout Florida. A significant portion of her work is the family law arena.
Ms. McLin is board-certified in appellate practice and is a certified circuit court and appellate mediator. She is AV Preiminant rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has consistently been selected as one of Florida Trend's Legal Elite and as a Florida Superlawyer in appellate practice. Ms. McLin has also been named one of Florida's Top 50 Women Lawyers. She is active in The Florida Bar having served as Chair of the Appellate Practice Certification Committee, and on the Executive Council of The Florida Bar's Appellate Practice Section where she chaired the Outreach Committee. She currently serves on the Executive Counsel of the Marital and Family Law Secion. Ms. McLin lectures and writes on issues important to appellate courts and practitioners.
She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law where she was associate editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Central Florida.
Although her practice is statewide, Ms. McLin is active in her local community. She served on the Board of Directors of First Green Bank, the first environmentally focused bank in the Southeast, and The Villages Charter School Buffalo Scholarship Foundation. She also served as Vice President of Habitat for Humanity of Lake County, Inc., as well as on the organization's board. She was also a member of Leadership Lake County and served as President of the Class of 2001.
Ms. McLin currently serves on the Board of the Hans and Cay Jacobsen Foundation, a charitable organization serving the needs of children in Lake and Sumter Counties.
