Shannon K. McDonald is an experienced appeals and defense attorney with understanding and knowledge of diverse areas of the law and dealing with diverse groups of clients. She has worked for businesses, trial courts, for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and as a defense lawyer in an appeals clinic.
While working with the ACLU Shannon worked on civil liberties cases such as the right to associate with family and freedom of speech in schools. She has also assisted on contract disputes, business disputes, and business formation. Among other criminal appellate cases Shannon has worked on federal Habeas Corpus cases, a large number state post conviction cases, and many modification of sentence issues. She has dealt with issues where criminal justice system must interact with immigration law, Indian law, and where federal and state law collide.
Shannon's passion for helping people get fair judgments is what led her to focus in appeals. You can count on Shannon to identify the issues you need reviewed and to build the arguments that will most help you. You might find a criminal defense or a civil defense lawyer who is equal to Shannon, but for appeals, you won't find anyone more dedicated to helping you overturn the trial court's bad decision.
Shannon also works with many businesses to prevent having legal problems in the first place. Contact her to have a contract written, reviewed, or evaluated for your peace of mind. Shannon spent three years working in a medium size business dealing with rentals and property management and many, many contracts. She currently works with clients who have manufacturing, technology start-ups, and consulting businesses.
