Q. What possible reasons could a nonviolent offender be denied Bond in Raleigh North Carolina.
A: Without all the details it is hard to know. There are provisions in NC state law that allow for a "no-bond" to be set for defendants charged with drug trafficking, especially if there are multiple drug trafficking offenses pending against the defendant. In most instances, no-bond is a temporary situation and a defense attorney can ask a judge to set a bond for the defendant. Each county in North Carolina has different criteria for setting bond amounts based on criminal records, type of crime, and other factors (like a defendant's history of failing to appear in court).
