Richard Greenblatt is a highly experienced litigator and trial attorney. He was admitted to the Bar in February 1979 and he has practiced before the trial and appellate courts of the State of New York for over 34 years. He attended Bucknell University, obtaining a B.A. in Anthropology/Sociology in 1972. After clerking for his father, Seymour Greenblatt, a well-respected trial attorney in his own right, he graduated from Brooklyn Law School, cum laude with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1978. Soon after, he joined his father’s firm where he became chief trial counsel and managing attorney of a 5 attorney litigation practice. All of the attorneys in the program completed basic mediation training and then offered hundreds of hours of free mediations. Seeking a solution to this objection, Mr. Greenblatt was among the first attorneys in New York State to train in collaborative negotiations, a mediation model in which each party has separate counsel but both counsel are committed to resolution of the dispute without litigation. In 2001, he organized a Collaborative Divorce training program for 50 lawyers from 5 New York State counties. He became the chair of the Orange County Collaborative Divorce group, organizing monthly meetings to discuss cases that were, sadly, few and far between. In 2003, with few collaborative cases resolved, Mr. Greenblatt became senior trial counsel to Rutberg and Associates, a firm concentrating in personal injury., During his 10 years with the firm he proved his mastery of the courtroom, obtaining many excellent results for hi
