Rich got the design patent!!! Foundation Patents and Rich are GREAT! Very smart and at a great price point for high quality patents and trademarks. I interviewed 5 patent attorneys in east bay and SF. 4 patent lawyers said I could not get a utility patent or any type of protection on my Rep Sheets. You have any other ideas? I said thanks for the time. Finally, I called Rich. He said stop in. We met F2F for an hour and he listened to my idea very well. His Princeton mind was churning a mile a minute, and his energy was obvious. He said a utility patent would be pretty hard to get, but he could protect Rep Sheets w a DESIGN patent. He was the only patent lawyer of 5 that could understand my goal and connect the dots and come up with a viable solution! Rich was very knowledgeable of a recent Samsung vs Apple smart phone legal battle in San Jose. Rich said despite all the utility patents with complex algorithms and code, the jury could not understand their complexity and reach a decision. The case eventually turned on a design patent. The jury could visually see the difference between a rounded edge vs a square edge smart phone. A $500 million dollar case between 2 tech titans was decided by a design patent. Rich does a very detailed job kept me updated as does his team. Best part is RICH GOT THE DESIGN patent!!! He got it done and he wrote it with the utmost amount of protection! Also, there is nothing like in the space with a design patent. It was groundbreaking work! Rich is getting alot of future work with us. I cannot thank him enough! Princeton guys are special. What else can I say. I definitely recommend Rich to anyone pursing a tech patent and/or tech trademark.

Biography

Richard is a USPTO Registered Patent Attorney who loves helping creative people realize their dreams. Rich received his BA from Princeton University, then completed his Physics coursework at San Francisco State University. Rich received his J.D. with Honors & Certified in Intellectual Property from the University of Oregon School of Law. Rich has practiced in patent prosecution, patent litigation and military law, having served as an Army JAG Corps Captain stateside and overseas.
