In the Matter of Certain Color TV Receivers and Color Display Monitors and Components Thomson, the successor-in-interest to a large patent portfolio from GE and RCA, retained Weil Gotshal after two major Taiwanese manufacturers failed to take licenses. At the close of the ITC trial against the major manufacturers, they agreed to take licenses. Weil Gothsal’s litigation success enabled Thomson to leverage its patent position against others, who subsequently agreed to take licenses. more
