More Than A Lawyer I contacted Paul because I was trying to negotiate a commercial lease, and I was not getting anywhere on my own. The owner of the property and her realtor were attempting to force me to sign a very one-sided lease, that if I agreed to it, would put the whole business in peril. This business, being a dream I had been saving for for five years. It appeared to me that I had no leverage to make any demands in the lease. Once Paul came along, he looked at the whole situation, calmly talk to me about my options, and gave me the confidence to begin to renegotiate this lease. Through his guidance and expertise, we renegotiated that lease, and by the time we signed, we were in a very advantageous position. Paul had recognized that the owner was really much more willing to negotiate than I had. I just listened to him and followed what he told me to do. That was 12 years ago. Paul has continued to advise me in this business for the entirety of its life. He helped my partner and I write an ownership agreement, he has reviewed contracts, vendor agreements, service agreements, and anything that I didn’t feel confident in reviewing on my own. I honestly credit Paul with getting our business off the ground and keeping it running. I’ve leaned on him many times over these 12 years. I trust him completely. He is smart, conscientious, experienced, and has a brilliant intuitive sense about him. I am grateful for all his gifts because he has used them to allow me to do what I do best in this world
