Kirk L. September 16, 2020
Absolute Disgrace and Unprofessional I hired Patty to help me with a simple misdemeanor case in February 2020. After meeting with her in her office we agreed to terms and and I paid her fee in full... subsequently after the initial consultation that morning. As the case progressed she advised me on the possible outcome and what the ultimate solution would be to my satisfaction. As the case progressed I found that she was not able to achieve any success with the DA and that I would be best advised to accept the 2nd offer they proposed without any success to address my concern regarding the excessive fine being imposed based on the circumstances that I felt were unfair with valid justification on my behalf. After realizing that I would be forced into the plea bargain to avoid trial I reluctantly agreed to accept the deal and move on where at that time I had requested more time to pay the fine based on my financial situation which was agreed to by court and set out for 6 months to complete my obligation. Upon leaving the court she stated to me " This had better be my last time to appear with you on this Matter " I assured her I would have my financial obligation to the court resolved at the next appearance. Subsequently due to the Covid Pandemic I asked and was granted 6 months to complete my obligation. In September 2020 I received a phone call from the court requesting my appearance for a status check in 2 days after my last appearance 1 moth earlier. I tried to reach Patty regarding the upcoming appearance at that time I sent her a text message to confirm that she would be there to represent me as my Attorney... she never returned my call or in any way tried to reach to me to assure me that she would be available or at a minimum advise me on how to proceed. The morning of court I advised the bailiff that my Attorney had never returned my call or spoken to me and that I would represent myself at the stars check the Judge has requested. I was informed that she had made contact with the court and stated she would be able to appear later that afternoon... which did me absolutely no good on the matter that morning nor did she ever call me afterwards or reach out to me in any manner. Absolutely shameful an utter disgrace to the legal profession Patty !
