Established DC precedent that a court has no discretion to release a defendant acquitted of a criminal offense by reason of insanity but must commit the defendant to a mental hospital for evaluation. see, United States v. Mendelsohn, 443 A.2d 1311 (DC 1982). Received Special Achievement Award, a citations by the US Attorney General for work in US v. Wright and Moss, an internationally publicized kidnapping case, and citations by the Brigadier General of the Air Force CID for work in US v. Melendez.
