I am the Deputy Chief of the Civil Division for the District of Arizona. The Civil Division has an affirmative enforcement and defensive division. The affirmative enforcement division represents the United States in civil fraud, environmental, condemnation and collection matters, among others. The defensive division defends the United States in federal and state lawsuits in various subject areas, including tort claims, medical malpractice cases, employment discrimination cases, land disputes,administrative review of agency actions, etc.
